HONAM Themal Power Generation 1,2 Plant (호남화력 1,2호기 탈황설비)
HONAM Thermal Power Generation Plant, combined the use of coal and fuel oil combustion plants. It was constructed by Honam Electric Power Corporation to supply electric power to Yeosu Industrial Complex and Honam Industrial Complex. The site was created by reclaiming land from public waters in Gwangyang Bay. After the fuel conversion renovation, using 120 million tons of coal annually, brought the substitution effect of 300 million barrels of oil.
유연탄 및 중유 연소 겸용 발전소로서, 여수국가산업단지 및 호남 지역 공업 단지의 전력 공급을 위하여 호남전력이 건설하였다.
광양만을 매립하여 대지를 조성한 뒤 발전소를 착공하였고, 연료 전환 개조 공사로 연간 120만 톤의 유연탄을 사용하여 약 300만 배럴의 유류 대체효과를 가져왔다.
